Description:
A key component of North American grasslands. Emerges blue-green, picking up red-purple tones as the season progresses. Burgundy seedheads frequently split into 3, resembling a turkey foot. Grows from 3' to 8' tall, depending on available soil moisture. Stays well-behaved in poor, dry-ish soils without flopping. Red to burgundy fall color persists into winter.
