Branches decorated with numerous, large, pendulous white flowers in spring. Flowers give way to green two-winged dry drupes which mature to tan in fall, persisting beyond the yellow-colored foliage. Attractive bark is striped in white when young, becoming deeply furrowed with age. NATIVE to the southern Appalachians.
